The WRT is no repeater nor a bridge. It's an access point. You want a wireless bridge like the Linksys WET54G. 3rd party firmware on the WRT54G may allow you to configure the WRT as bridge. Linksys firmware does not support it. The WAP54G should be accessible from a wired connection while it's wired to your network.
